JC Math
Mathematics is not about memorising formulas. Success in JC Mathematics comes from understanding concepts, recognising patterns and applying the right techniques efficiently under examination conditions.
At METRIS, we help students build strong mathematical intuition, master problem-solving strategies and tackle challenging A-Level questions with confidence.

Build Strong Mathematical Foundations
Many students struggle in JC Mathematics because topics are interconnected. A weakness in one area often affects performance in others.
We help students develop a solid understanding of key topics such as:
- Functions & Graphs
- Calculus
- Vectors
- Complex Numbers
- Differential Equations
- Probability & Statistics
By understanding the logic behind mathematical methods, students learn how to approach unfamiliar questions confidently.
Deepen your mathematical thinking and reasoning skills
Many students know the formulas but struggle when questions are presented in unfamiliar ways.
Students learn how to:
- Identify hidden question structures
- Break complex problems into manageable steps
- Avoid common mistakes
- Present solutions clearly and efficiently
- Apply concepts across multiple topics
This enables students to handle both routine and higher-order A-Level questions with confidence.

Our Lead Tutor

Mr. KS Teng
A mathematician with a penchant for teaching, KS hones himself in the art of problem solving in the world of arithmetic. His passion for the subject is visibly manifested in his lessons as he transforms challenges into opportunities for students to discover different approaches towards different questions.
Having taught for the last 16 years, he knows that mastery in mathematics can only be achieved through copious practice and an unrelenting dedication for the subject. Thus, he encourages students to see the beauty in solving arithmetic problems methodically, rather than results.
Going by his personal mantra that “A good teacher not only needs to be able to teach, but also be able to handle questions from the students’ perspective”, he would sit for the A-level examination yearly, which imbues him with quality of being able to relate the academic rigour students face. With that, he attunes his teaching style to his students’ learning needs, not only to help them ace their examinations but also develop resiliency, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Student Testimonials
“The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don’t tell you what to see”. This quote reminded me of your lessons and your teaching methods that has helped me to improve in math.
Thank you for reigniting my interest in math and for your lessos. I feel fortunate to be a student of yours, and I hope you’ll have a good Teacher’s Day.
Sincerely,
Dion”
